Forward Aspiration - Moving Toward Optimum Potential
 About Us
This enterprise is founded on the belief that our fullest potential can be achieved most thoroughly in association with a qualified "thought partner" or coach. This process can help us clarify our perspectives, goals and objectives, smooth the paths ahead, diffuse potential obstacles and create in impelling vision that moves both individuals and organizations toward concrete results in collapsed time frames.

I am committed to helping individual clients exceed their own imaginations and to assist business organizations in becoming more effective and profitable as  the development of their employees is maximized.  With decades of experience in business and non-profit organizations, a graduate degree in Organizational Development (MHROD) from the University of San Francisco and currently completing a post-graduate Certification program through the College of Executive Coaching (accredited by the International Coach Federation) I bring you the specialized understanding and skills to bring the best out of your organization, your employees and yourself.

To help in understanding what is meant by the terms Personal Coaching and Executive Coaching, I offer the following three explanations from the book,Personal and Executive Coaching, by Dr. Jeffrey E. Auerbach, Ph.D. the founder and president of the College of Executive Coaching and a past president of an International Coach Federation Chapter.

What is meant by "Personal Coaching"?
"Personal coaching involves helping generally well-functioning people create and achieve goals, maximize personal development, and navigate transitions on the path to realizing their ideal vision for the current and emerging chapters of their lives.  Most personal coaching clients are focused on the development of an ideal future self, an ideal career, or an improved family life. The coach aids the client through the coaching conversation in developing a coaching agenda, incorporating values clarification, identification of strengths, and articulation of the client's current life and career purpose.  The coach supports the client's efforts to engage in lifelong learning, navigate and obstacles, delegate or let go of energy-draining situations, honor challenges and celebrate successes."

Executive Coaching
"Executive coaching is similar in many ways to personal coaching, but it focuses especially on issues related to effectiveness and fulfillment at work.  Common themes in executive coaching are developing key executive and managerial skills, enhancing team building and leadership qualities, identifying and optimizing the use of key strengths and building the competencies of emotional intelligence."

Benefits of Coaching
"One of the most satisfying elements of executive coaching is being a part of a creative and collaborative process where extraordinary results occur.  The executive (or personal) coach helps to draw out creativity, innovation and teamwork. The coach engages in this process and models a process the executive can use with his or her team."

An Analogy
Drawing an analogy of the coaching process from my personal experience of the certification training at the College of Executive Coaching: the faculty studies the findings of current neuroscience to understand the human brain (the hardware) and the workings of the human mind (the operating system).  They then transmit specialized skills (the software) to their students, the coaches, who in turn guide their clients in becoming proficient in general skills (the graphic user interface). This then, results in the clients' minds moving naturally and directly forward at an amazing pace, instead of spinning around in circles of habit and environmental conformity (endless do-loops).

The perspective clears, the path forward becomes smooth, the vision becomes impelling, while commitment and energy become perfect and complete.  It is an amazing and incredible experience!  One that I invite you to come to know for yourself.

Getting Started
My practice is based on establishing trust, and my fee structure is values-based.  Simply put, the most important thing is determining what it is worth to you to reach and exceed your goals sooner than you had imagined. Coaching is normally accomplished over the phone at a predetermined time, with weekly sessions of 45-minutes duration.

Initial consultations are free. Often termed the "intake session" they usually last a full hour and are designed to allow you to begin to discover what coaching is about for yourself and for me to become familiar with your objectives. Near the end of the intake session, I will often recommend the utilization of professional assessments to assist further in refining objectives and clarifying the path that the coaching experience may take. The minimal cost of these assessments will be collected at the time we agree to use them. The structure for delivering future services and fees are discussed and if an agreement is reached, a contract is drawn up. Payment for future services will normally be collected in advance, on a monthly basis, payable prior to the first session following the intake session.
